China Program

I am pleased to be Children's House International's China program coordinator for families living abroad. As the representative for families abroad, I travel throughout the countries where we work as well as visiting adoptive families.

Children's House International is a non-profit (501-c3) international adoption agency. CHI has been licensed since 1975 and serves families throughout the world.

I will guide you throughout the entire Chinese adoption process, which includes immigration (CIS) approval, home study, dossier preparation, referral, travel, accommodations and the in-country process.

I work together with Stefani Ellison, the Family Coordinator for Children's House International's China program. Stefani has been with CHI since the very beginning of their China program. Her daughter was the first Chinese placement for the agency in mid 1995. Stefani has 7 special needs children, including one beautiful little girl, LanLan who just arrived in the US this past year. This program is our passion, as thousands of children are still waiting in Chinese orphanages for their forever families. Our China Program was created in 1994 and our agency was one of the earliest agencies to obtain accreditation from the China Center of Adoption Affairs. We have a fantastic China Relations Manager and facilitator, Charlene Wang, who has dedicated herself to helping the homeless little ones of China at great personal sacrifice.

CHI has two thriving programs, traditional and special needs. Chinese Children include mainly females from 8 months to 2 years old. Healthy children over 6 years old and special needs children are expedited in our Waiting Child Program. CHI has a very special love for these children. Most of the children have been abandoned and information does not exist on their family.
