China Program - Time Frame

From the time your dossier is complete and logged in at the CCAA in China, it will take approximately 16 months before a family receives a referral in the traditional program.

With more and more families selecting China since the closure of a number of other countries' adoption programs as well as a decreasing number of healthy orphans available due to the improving economy, the wait time has increased recently from 7 to 16 months.

If you are interested in the adoption of a child with special needs, CHI receives a group of approximately 25 Waiting Children every 3 months. From the time you paperwork is logged in at the CCAA in China, the wait to bring your child home is approximately 6 months.
