You CAN Adopt While Living Abroad

If you are a U.S. or dual nationality couple (with one of you being a U.S. citizen), who are living abroad, and wish to adopt internationally, I can assist you.

I am an attorney who works as a consultant/program coordinator and whose focus is families who live outside the U.S. The non-profit agency I work with is Children's House International, which is located in the State of Washington.

Depending on your circumstances, I can assist you in adopting a child from Ethiopia. There are no legal fees to retain my services.

There are 3 parts of an international adoption which I will guide you through:
  1. Obtaining pre approval from U.S. CIS (immigration). This process will result in a visa necessary to bring your child home. If you are living overseas, the process is somewhat different than a family living in the U.S.
  2. A homestudy which is really a family study which must be done by a social worker and is needed for both immigration and your country of adoption.
  3. A "dossier" which is the paperwork required by your country of adoption.

I work very closely with my families, having daily contact by phone or email while they are going through the process. I can assist you with things such as notarization and authentication of your documents which is often an issue for families living abroad.

You will be part of a close network of adoptive families who also live outside the U.S.

Please read this story of a recent adoption I assisted in, from the new parents perspective.

If you are interested in this process , please contact me.
